He sits at the train station, ready to run away
When that train comes along he'll hope for the best
He doesn't know what's ahead of him now
But he'll just step on the train and let God do the rest
As he waits he gets to thinkin' about the past
He thinks about what she did to his bruised heart
Like a demon on a good christian man
Let out her claws and tore his entire soul apart
Now he's gonna run away

Knowin' there must be a way

Thinks about his preacher friend from way back home
Said that Jesus would always be with him
With such a friend like Him on his side
He figured the outlook couldn't be that grim
So now he's ready to run, ready to hide
From the ghosts that haunt his memory tonight
The train arrives and he gets onboard
He just no longer has the strenght for this fight
Now he's gonna run away

He falls asleep and he starts to have a dream
He's runnin' away but gettin' nowhere fast
And in his mind the darkness begins to creep
And he figures out that the pain will still last
But from the darkness comes a bright new light
And a face he is sure he has seen before
